About Me I am more eclectic than anything. I enjoy learning all that I can from the many and diverse traditions out there. I am married and have a family. I love to write, create things, read and to learn new things.
Music I listen to a wide array of music from classical to gothic metal. I also listen to pagan music, renassaince music, I LOVE the group Celtic Thunder and celtic music. I also like the Native American, and other cultural music. I am very diverse. The only thing that I dont seem to like is rap. Cant do the rap music. For some reason it just grates on my nerves LOL.
Movies Again I have a wide interest in movies. I do favor horror and fantasy movies more though.
TV Right now I dont really get a chance to watch much TV. But my favorite shows are Bones, House, and Charmed.
Books As with everything I have a wide interest but do lean a lot towards horror and fantasy novels. I also love books that help me learn more in various subjects. Maybe one day I will see my novel on book store shelves. If I ever get to finish it that is LOL.
Hobbies My hobbies are many. My family of course comes first. Then creative things such as writing and making jewelry. Learning new languages...working on Welsh atm. Learning about all the varied pagan traditions and practices.
Vices Hard to say honestly other than I tend to by too hard on myself. I have (like many people) many faults. After all I am not perfect and never claimed to be.
Virtues UUUMMM...guess honesty...I am one of those that if you really dont want the truth dont ask me cause I will tell you. I call it how I see it. I tend to put others first and myself last.
Heroes Our Soldiers. My husband for his strength and optimistic outlook on things. How he can find the humor in the challenges with his health. Those that are not afraid to stand up for what they believe is right. Those that give of themselves without expecting anything in return. Those that care for others. And the many everyday unsung heroes out there.

Saturday, May 3, 2008, 11:00 AM CST [General]

    Merry Meet,

For those that may stumble upon my blog and are not on my friends list I am back online ...well sort of.  I am making time if nothing more than just a few minutes every other day to get online and do something or post something that I want.  So I will be making posts off and on.  Hope that everyone has a great weekend.

My weekend will be a bit full.  Started off with taking husband to Dialysis and then to the library where I am typing this.  After that we are off to a great shop called Earth Art in Austin to buy my birthday present.  Then off to get some more soil for planting.  Then when we get home will work some outside and then inside for the evening.  Sunday will be spent outside some more.  Hoping to get to be able to work with Pugsley (one of our dogs) some more on his training.  Sunday evening I will be playing EQ (Everquest) for awhile.  Monday I am not sure other than to relax except for my visit to the doctor.  And some where this weekend I am going to do sme class work LOL.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well.  Have a great weekend.

Wednesday, October 31, 2007, 02:21 PM CST [General]

    Merry Meet,

I know that I have not been on and posted to my blog and such.  Things in my life have been way hectic lately.  I now have two jobs plus school.  As if that was not enough I am also helpng with my disabled husband.  He will be going in for surgery tomorrow so I will not be on much for a bit longer.  I am hoping that things will settle down sometime after the first of the year so that I wont have to work so much and have more time online.  Right now I am using my husbands dialysis time to go to the library to get online so that I can post today.  Due to his surgery I have today and tomorrow off but will still not be able to get on much.  Will keep folks posted as I can.  Sorry that I have as of yet to establish a good blog.  Perhaps one day I will have the time to post some of my writings or other musing.  Hope that all have a blessed, magickal, and safe Samhain.

    Bush Apologizes to Roberta Stewart

Saturday, September 1, 2007, 04:01 PM CST [General]

    Merry Meet All,

Just recieved this post and wanted to post it here as an update to my previous post.  It is good to see that he did apologize for not including Mrs. Stewart when he invited other family members.

    Light and Blessings

    =====================================================

    << AT Roberta
< /AT >Stewart, a Wiccan from Nevada and member of Circle Sanctuary. The
president apologized to Roberta for her not being invited to the meeting he
held in Reno, Nevada on Tuesday with families of Nevada soldiers killed in
    action.

Reports about Roberta not being invited to this meeting began appearing in
the media yesterday and have continued today:
    http://www.lahontan valleynews. com/article/ 20070830/ News/108300034

In the press articles, both Rev. Barry Lynn, executive director of Americans
United for Separation of Church and State, and Rev. Selena Fox, senior
minister of Circle Sanctuary, called for the president to apologize to
Roberta Stewart, and to give equal respect to soldiers and their families
    regardless of their religious orientation.

During the phone call, the president said that he admired Roberta for her
spirit and thanked her for accepting his apology. He also offered his
condolences for the loss of her husband, Sgt. Patrick Stewart, who was
killed in action in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan on September
    25, 2005.

Following her phone meeting with the president, Roberta told Selena: "I am
thankful that President Bush offered his condolences and his apology. This
has helped bring some much needed closure for me regarding this recent issue
as well as the struggles I have endured in the Veteran Pentacle Quest
seeking to have my husband properly honored."

Both Rev. Fox and Rev. Lynn have expressed their appreciation for the
    president's phone meeting with Roberta:

Rev. Fox: "I am glad that President Bush provided this support to Roberta
-- it has helped remedy this recent problem as well as helped heal the
stress that Roberta has endured since her husband was killed in action.
It also is a positive development for Wiccans and other Pagans who are
serving and who have served in the US military and their families in the
quest for equal respect and equal rights in society."

Rev. Lynn: "The president has done the right thing, and his apology to
Stewart should be commended. All veterans of war, regardless of their
faith, should be honored and treated with the utmost respect, especially
from their commander-in- chief. We are pleased the president recognized his
    slight of Stewart was wrong."

Americans United for Separation of Church and State has issued a press
release commending President Bush for apologizing to Roberta:
    http://www.au. org

Rev. Lynn interviewed Roberta for his Culture Shocks show shortly after the
President apologized to her. The show will broadcast today on radio and on
the internet at 5:50 pm Eastern, and will be archived on-line tomorrow --
    tune in: http://www.cultures hocks.com

Thanks to everyone who responded to yesterday's Circle Times and sent
healing blessings to Roberta and networked on this issue!

Wiccan War Hero's Widow Excluded From Meeting

Thursday, August 30, 2007, 05:07 PM CST [General]

    Merry Meet all,

I recieved this from a group that I belong to called The Creative Symphony of Celia.  It was a post that was made there and I have copied below.  I felt that we had a big success when the government finally accepted and placed the pentacle on the list of approved religious symbols for our fallen pagan soldiers.  But it seems that things are still in a sad state of affairs concerning the pagan religion and what the government thinks of us.  But I wanted to pass on the message as I recieved it and let you all read about it and form your own opinions and views.

    Light and Blessings

Wiccan War Hero's Widow Excluded From President Bush's Meeting With
    Veterans' Families

Rev. Barry Lynn Demands Presidential Apology

On Tuesday, August 28, following an address to the American Legion's
national convention in Reno, Nevada, President George W. Bush met with
northern Nevada family members of soldiers who have perished in
    combat.

Roberta Stewart, a Wiccan whose husband, Sgt. Patrick Stewart, was
    killed
in combat in the war in Afghanistan, was not invited.

"I'm upset that I wasn't invited," Roberta said of the meeting. "I
    think it
is because of my faith. I feel like I've been discriminated against
    again."

In 2006, Americans United for Separation of Church and State (AU)
    sued the
US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in federal court representing
Roberta Stewart; her church, Circle Sanctuary; and others. AU argued
    that
the VA's refusal to recognize the pentacle as a symbol of faith
    violated
the religious liberty rights of Wiccan service members and their
    families
and subverted the separation of church and state.

Earlier this year, the VA settled the lawsuit and finally added the
pentacle to its list of religious symbols that are permitted on the
gravestones it issues to honor deceased veterans.

"I had hoped that with this settlement, that finally the Executive
    branch
of the federal government was giving equal treatment to Wiccan
    veterans and
their families. However, it seems that the White House is still not
    doing
this, and I find the exclusion of Roberta Stewart from this meeting
appalling," said Rev. Selena Fox, senior minister of Circle Sanctuary.
Sgt. Stewart's VA-issued gravestone with pentacle was dedicated on
    Memorial
Day at the church's national cemetery near Barneveld, Wisconsin.

The Rev. Barry W. Lynn, executive director of Americans United, also
condemned Bush's snub of Stewart. "The president should issue an
    apology
to Roberta Stewart," Lynn said. "She stood courageously for religious
freedom for all soldiers, and the president was wrong to treat her so
    shabbily."

During the litigation, AU attorneys unearthed evidence that the VA's
refusal to recognize the pentacle may have been motivated by bias
    toward
    the Wiccan faith.

It appeared that the VA did not want to recognize the faith, which
President Bush has publicly derided in the past.

Lynn said the president's snub of Roberta Stewart smacked of
    retaliation
for her public and successful stand against the administration policy.

"President Bush seems to be continuing a pattern of hostility toward
    the
Wiccan faith," he said. "That's an outrage. America is a nation of
    great
religious diversity, and all public officials, especially the
    president,
have an obligation to serve all of the people. Our Constitution
    mandates
    equal treatment of all faiths."
